It is not Christmas yet, but it is the season to be jolly at Galway Executive Skillnet (GES ), which is giving away a number of free workshops at Galway City venues as an early present to Galway’s business community. Space is limited on all five free courses, so early booking with GES is essential.
The events include an afternoon workshop by communication guru Terry Prone, who comes to Galway on November 29 to speak on ‘Positive Thinking and Motivation’. Prolific, award-winning author and media specialist Terry Prone will cover the timely topics of why optimism works and of how to become an optimist, as well as offering insights into how to motivate others and overcome the language of negativity. As former Director of Carr Communications and current chair of the Communications Clinic, there are few areas of the media or public life that Terry has not impacted, and pearls of Prone wisdom are guaranteed.
• A free half-day workshop on financial compliance is offered on November 15, delivered by Evelyn Hanrahan of Financial Services Compliance and Training. Evelyn combines extensive industry knowledge with compliance experience, and has been at the forefront in assisting the financial services sector to interpret and apply the regulatory framework within their businesses.
• A free full-day sales and marketing workshop entitled ‘Stand Up and Fight for Your Business’ on November 16, delivered by Galway business advisor/author/motivational speaker Pearce Flannery covers the ten essential habits for successful marketing and selling. Pearce has decades of experience in various business sectors, and teaches that ‘Attitude Defines Altitude’.
• A free full-day workshop, ‘Refresh Your Goals’ on Strategic Planning for 2012, facilitated by Maureen Grealish of LEAP Business Advisors on November 23 teaches participants how to hit the ground running in 2012 by creating goals and actions to refresh your business. Maureen has extensive experience in working with companies in transition and has the skills that will effect long-term positive change strategies for participants’ businesses.
• A free half-day workshop on Search Engine Optimisation on December 13th, presented by systems consultant Geoff Kinsella and e-marketing consultant Sue Palmer of EzSales shows participants how to use their website as a business generating tool and how to integrate a business’ website activity into the overall marketing plan. Connections will be shown between website quality and sales, and techniques taught on how to use keywords to maximum effect. This workshop is aimed primarily at those responsible for maintaining the company website.
Early booking is essential for these five free events, and no more than two participants from any one company may attend at any one course.
