Mervue man accused of drug dealing sent forward for trial

A 37-year-old Mervue man charged with drug dealing has been sent forward for trial.

Thomas Feeney with an address at 25 Quinn Terrace, Mervue, appeared before Galway District Court on Monday charged with possession of cannabis and cocaine as well as possession of cannabis herbal and cocaine with intent to sell or otherwise supply to others at 25 Quinn Terrace, Mervue, on April 30, 2011.

Garda Sandra Waldron gave evidence of serving the book of evidence on the accused for all four counts. Inspector Mick Coppinger explained that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to the accused being sent forward for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court.

Judge Mary Fahy made the order for Feeney to be returned for trial at Galway Circuit Criminal Court this week where the matter was then further adjourned to November 25. Free legal aid was also granted plus one junior counsel.
