Tommy Tiernan unleashes new DVD

ON HIS Crooked Man tour Tommy Tiernan knew he was on a roll, performing top flight material and enjoying sell-outs shows in Ireland, Canada, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand.

As a result, Tommy wanted at least one performance from the tour captured for his new DVD. The result is Tommy Tiernan - Crooked Man, live in City Limits, Cork, which has just been released.

Richard Ayoade, the writer and director of Submarine and who also plays Maurice Moss on The IT Crowd, undertook to record Tommy in the Cork venue in July, using eight motion film cameras.

The DVD sees Tommy delving into various themes with his trademark lunacy. As Chortle.co.uk’s Steve Bennet said: “It might seem a lazy thing to say about an Irish comedian, but Tiernan is a rightful heir to Dave Allen, addressing every big issue with a refreshing irreverence.”

Tommy Tiernan - Crooked Man is rated 18 and comes with a free bonus CD.
