A NEW book on the life, work, and influences of Dutch born, Galway based artist Marja van Kampen will be officially launched in The Kenny Gallery this Saturday.
A Determined Life In Art, written and designed by Dick Donaghue, will be launched by Galway Advertiser chair Ronnie O’Gorman in The Kenny Gallery, Liosbán Retail Park, at 2pm.
The full-colour illustrated book, traces Marja’s determination to live the life of an artist to the full, from her school days to art college in Holland to the South of France and to Galway.
Marja was a driving force behind the success of Artspace Studios before moving on after 10 years and opening her own studio and gallery in Galway. She has enjoyed 25 solo shows, more than 90 group shows from Ireland to China, has won many awards, and her works feature in many prestigious collections.
