THERE WILL be two chances to see, hear, and enjoy the songs and poems of the brilliant Tuam singer-songwriter Seamus Ruttledge in Galway this month.
Seamus has released his new album, Songs To Have With Your Tea, and he will be promoting the album at two separate upcoming shows.
Songs To Have With Your Tea was recorded and produced in Sun Street Studios, Tuam by Kenny Ralph and Leo Moran. It is Seamus’ second album, his debut being 2000’s New Boots, New Shoes. He has also published two volumes of poetry.
Seamus will be in The Crane Bar this Sunday at 8pm as part of a show for the Spirit Of Voice Festival. Also on the bill will be National ESB Feis Ceoil 2011 winner Kayla McDonagh, singer-songwriter Nina Viertel, and the Sonke multicultural choir led by Helen Webb. Admission is €5.
The album launch gig will take place on Thursday November 17 when the upstairs bar at the Róisín Dubh will host An Evening with Poet & Songwriter Seamus Ruttledge at 8.30pm.
Backing Seamus will be a band featuring The Saw Doctors’ Leo Moran, along with Michel Brandt, Conor Ralph, Derek Murray, and Dan Trayers. Support is from local writers Conor Montague and Jimi McDonnell. Admission is €5.
