ACCORDING TO Lucinda Williams, Canadian singer-singer songwriter Ana Egge is “an exceptional songwriter...the folk Nina Simone”.
Ron Sexsmith said she has “one of the prettiest voices I’ve ever heard and her songs are beautiful and refreshingly original”.
Ana is currently promoting her new album Bad Blood, a 12-song set produced by Steve Earle, and he praised the songwriter, saying her songs are “low and lonesome, big square-stare noir ballads which she plays on a guitar she built with her own two hands and sings like she's telling us her deepest, darkest secrets”.
Galway will have a chance to see Ana in action when she plays Kelly’s, Bridge Street, this Sunday at 8pm. Also on the bill is Dutch born, Galway based singer-songwriter Christof, who will be promoting his new EP.
Tickets to this event are only available on the door on the night and are €10.
