Magda Navarrete to bring Latin sounds to Monroe’s

DELICATE BOSSA Nova, flamboyant flamenco, fiery rhythms, and electronic beats will be the order of the day when Polish-Spanish singer Magda Navarrete plays Monroe’s Backstage Bar on Sunday November 6 at 8pm.

Magda and her band will perform music from their most recent album Iman, which combines 1930s Latin boleros with electronic beats, flamenco, and Polish music, inspired by the old vinyl bolero records Magda found in the markets in Montevideo, Warsaw, and Prague. Magda and her band call their style of music ‘Electro Latino’.

Magda writes and produces her own music and teaches singing in Galway and Warsaw. For the past fourteen years she has worked within the Latin American music trend and flamenco.

She is the only woman in Poland who sings bolero and flamenco at the highest international level. She has also performed at festivals in Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Uruguay, New York, Romania, Berlin and London.

Tickets are available on the door or through [email protected] and 091 - 583397.
