Brewers On the Bay — One day beer festival at The Oslo

A very special one day festival will be held at The Oslo Bar in Salthill on this Sunday, October 30.

The festival will feature one-off casks of craft beers from Ireland’s finest microbreweries. There will also be wonderful beer and cheese pairings courtesy of Sheridans Cheesemongers.

Top microbreweries taking part are Dungarvan, Trouble, Metalman, Galway Bay, Franciscan Wells, Breweyed, Eight Degrees, and many more.

There is no charge to attend and the first cask will be tapped at 3pm. Festivities end when the last cask is drained. The Irish Craft Beer industry has exploded in the last few years with breweries producing quality, refined beers which are on par with top international breweries.

Many moons ago, each village brewed its own beer. A spokeswoman said that there are more people returning to craft beers now as more and more people turn away from commercial beer in favour of the diverse range of beers produced by microbreweries.

A must for beer connoisseurs and cheese fanciers. If you love both, you will be in heaven. All day from 3pm, escape the madness and find refuge in the ancient art of brewing at The Oslo.
