An ambient affair in store at Kelly’s

TONIGHT SEES The Ambience Affair bring their new show to Kelly’s. Part of a nationwide tour, the gig is a follow up to the release of their debut album Burials which was launched with Bluestack Records on October 14.

Originally comprising vocalist/guitarist Jamie Clarke and Marc Gallagher on drums, The Ambience Affair became a three piece last year when Yvonne Ryan joined the band on bass/vocals/keys.

Clarke had been playing and writing alone up until three years ago when he then met Gallagher in the music shop they worked in. After attending one of Jamie's solo gigs, Marc joined him and the Ambience Affair was formed. Their sound is generally comprised by layering looped guitars, keyboards, and vocals combining them with driving rhythms and bass.

Following the release of their debut EP Fragile Things in 2009 and Patterns last year, The Ambience Affair have gone on to support many highly acclaimed acts such as Field Music, Bell X1, Villagers, Peter Broderick, Jape, and Lisa Hannigan. Their song 'Parting Patterns' was recently played in an episode of CSI: NY.

The Ambience Affair will be supported by the wonderful Jennifer Evans (http://jenniferevans.ie/ ) and with live visuals from Hector Castells.

Doors open at 8pm and admission is €7/€5. For further details check out http://theambienceaffair.com/
