A team of 16 workers from the company - which is currently hiring IT graduates and professionals to develop their software product range, (log onto www.fidelityinvestments.ie for information ) spent the afternoon helping the charity at the T O’hUiginn premises on Shantalla Road.

‘We hire IT graduates who are strong problem solvers, excellent team players and caring individuals, key characteristics of a successful software developer with Fidelity,” said Kevin Barron, Leap senior manager at Fidelity, one of the world’s largest providers of financial services.

“We were delighted that Galway Volunteer Centre linked us up with the Simon organisation for this volunteer activity.”

Donncha Foley, development manager with Galway Volunteer Centre congratulated the team on their work.

“It’s amazing what a group of people can do in such a short space of time. The work was tough but they got stuck in and transformed the warehouse.”

He stated that the volunteer centre is keen to work with other businesses or community organisations on similar projects.
