Congolese guitarist @ Róisín Dubh

CONGOLESE GUITARIST and composer Niwel Tsumbu plays the Róisín Dubh this Tuesday at 8pm as part of his tour to promote his new album S’All Vibration.

On the night, Niwel will be joined by Peter Erdei (bass ), Darragh O’Kelly (keyboards ), Diego Joaquin Ramirez (drums ), and Eamonn Cagney (percussion ) and they will perform music from S’All Vibration, as well as from Niwel’s previous two albums.

The Congolese musician has earned great praise from critics with The Irish Times saying: “Antidotes to the recession don’t come much more potent than this,” and noting his “tribal rhythms and transcendent male harmonies declare Tsumbu’s intention to carve a niche nobody else has even dreamt of.”

Niwel believes S’All Vibration is “my best album so far” and it also marks a new departure for the artist.

“Everything is different to the last two albums,” he says. “The instrumentation is completely different as it is electric with only one acoustic song. Overall it is much more upbeat. The tour will be amazing – we’re rehearsing a lot so that we perform to our maximum potential.”
