Exiled Iranian lawyer to speak in Galway

Mohammad Mostafaei, an Iranian lawyer in exile, will be speaking in Galway this weekend on the issue of human rights in Iran.

Mr Mostafaei will be speaking in the Nuns Island Theatre this Saturday at 8pm as a guest of Amnesty International Ireland.

He will talk about human rights in Iran and his personal experience of being forced out of the country. At the time he was working for Sakineh Mohammad Ashtiani, who had been sentenced to death by stoning.

Mohammad Mostafaei has spent his career defending juveniles and the underprivileged, including many who were sentenced to execution. He has been credited with saving more than 50 clients from execution:
