THE RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet and ConTempo’s Andreea Banciu and Adrian Mantu join forces for a concert in the Aula Maxima, NUI, Galway on Tuesday at 8pm.
Entitled Strings Alive! this is the opening concert of Music for Galway’s 31st International Concert Series. The programme features Mozart’s String Quartet in C major, ‘dissonance’ K 465, Shostakovich’s String Quartet No 8, in C minor, Op 110, and Brahms’ String Sextet No 1, Op 18.
As part of this season’s ‘Meet the Musicians’ initiative, audiences are invited to attend an open rehearsal on Monday at 5pm in St Mary’s College.
