A team of volunteers from Fidelity Investment’s Leap technology graduate training programme put their shoulders to the wheel for Galway Simon last week by helping prepare a warehouse for Simon’s upcoming furniture auction fundraiser on Saturday.
A team of 16 volunteers spent the afternoon brushing, lifting, pushing and cleaning to get a space ready at Higgin’s lumber yard on Shantalla Road for the auction which takes place from 12 noon to 5pm.
Kevin Barron, Leap senior manager at Fidelity, which is currently hiring IT graduates and professionals to develop its software product range, says the company was delighted to link up with the Simon organisation through the Galway Volunteer Centre.
Galway Volunteer Centre’s development manager Donncha Foley said the centre was interested in working with other businesses or community organisations on similar projects. For further information contact Donncha Foley 091 539930 or [email protected].
