Celebrate autumn at Coole

Coole Park will be celebrating autumn with woodland walks and other events taking place at weekends throughout October.

The Coole Park Visitors’ Centre and tea rooms will be open this weekend, with walks and family activities taking place from next week. All events are free and booking is not necessary.

On Sunday October 9 a tree walk at Coole will trace the story of Coole through the various tree plantings, looking at native and non-native species and exploring the remains of Sir William Gregory’s pinetum of exotic conifers. The walk will take place from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

On Sunday October 16 enjoy Autumn at Coole, a walk to discover the changing colours of the woods in autumn. This is a fun event for all the family and will take place from 2.30pm to 4pm.

On Sunday October 23 Wild Swans at Coole will give walkers a chance to learn about the turlough habitat at Coole and its importance for migrating birds, and swans in particular. This event takes place from 2.30pm to 4pm.

Halloween celebrations will take place in Coole on Sunday October 30 from 2.30pm to 4pm, with nature-based activities and games for all the family.

All events begin at the Coole Park Visitors’ Centre.
