Heather Greally from Oranmore has been announced as the winner of the one year scholarship at Stagecoach Theatre. The 12-year-old is in first year at Calasanctius College in Oranmore and has already proven to be an accomplished performer. A student of speech and drama for six years, she has collected three higher achiever awards from the Irish Academy of Music.
Heather has completed three weeks of the scholarship which consists of a three hour session every Saturday incorporating signing, music, and dancing. Plans are currently being put together for the Christmas show at the Black Box Theatre.
Applicants for the scholarship had to send a letter of no more than 100 words outlining why they would be an ideal candidate. John Lucey, principal of Stagecoach Theatre said: “Heather won because her letter seemed simple, honest, truthful, and made us laugh.”
