St Brendan's Ballygar open their Connacht Championship campaign this weekend when they play Carnacun on Sunday (2pm ).
The Galway Senior Ladies champions will have high hopes of advancing from this preliminary round fixture which takes place in Mountbellew.
Last weekend 10 clubs took part in the All-Ireland seven-a-side tournament with Kilkerrinn Clonberne winning the intermediate title.
Caherlistrane, the only senior club, did not make it through the group stage, but at intermediate grade Kilkerrin Clonberne, Milltown, Tuam Cortoon, and Caltra made it to the semi-finals. Milltown played Caltra and won by a point, Kilkerrin Clonberne overcame Tuam Cortoon by shoot out after the game ended in a draw, and they then went on to beat Milltown in the final.
Claregalway, Glinsk, Menlough Skehana and Beagh were the Galway representatives at junior level with all advancing from their group. Melough Skehana and Beagh were beaten at quarter-final stage. Glinsk made it to the Shield semi-final, and Claregalway went all the way to the cup final where they were beaten by Thomas Davis (Dublin )
