VINCE GILLIGAN, the writer/producer on The X-Files, and creator and writer of cult hit TV series, Breaking Bad, is coming to Galway next month.
Mr Gilligan will be taking part in Talking TV Drama, an event focused on writing drama for TV, organised by Galway Film Centre, in partnership with GMIT, BAI, FÁS Screen Training Ireland, and TG4. The event will feature workshops, panel discussions, and public interviews.
Breaking Bad, created and written by Vince Gilligan, has been named one of the best shows of 2011 by the American Film Institute and Stephen King hailed it as “the best of the 21st century”. Vince has also written multiple episodes of The X-Files and several feature films including Hancock starring Will Smith. An in-depth interview will be conducted with Vince on Thursday, October 20 by GMIT lecturer, Felim Mac Dermott.
Other guests will include Emmy winning director Dearbhla Walsh and writer/script editor Muirinn Lane Kelly, as well as individuals who have worked on Shameless, Teachers, and Waking the Dead.
Talking TV Drama takes place on Thursday October 20 and Friday October 21 in the Harbour Hotel. Attendance is €85/75 and early booking is advised as places are limited.
