Girls’ tag is starting in Galwegians RFC on Saturday September 24 from 10am to 11am.
Tag is open to all girls aged six to 12. No experience is necessary.
Wendy Hickey from Connacht Rugby will take the session with the girls and is looking forward to getting tag rugby for girls part of the club set-up.
“I have had so many calls from clubs looking to start tag rugby for girls this year, it has been quite incredible. Tag rugby is a non-contact version of rugby that allows players to develop the basic skills of the game in a fun and safe environment.”
Hickey, who has been working in primary schools across the city over the past number of years, says Galwegians are keen to encourage girls to become part of the club.
