RICK MARGITZA, the American saxophonist described by Allmusic.com as one of the “young lions” of modern jazz will play Galway as part of the Galway Jazz Festival.
The Galway Jazz Festival takes place from Friday September 30 to Sunday October 2 and as tickets for all festival shows are limited and available on a first come first served basis, early booking is advised.
The festival kicks off on Friday 30 with DJs Deviant and Sebi C in the Town Hall Studio, followed by free festive late night jazz in The Jazz Club in the Meyrick Hotel from 11pm.
On Saturday the talented Neofobic plus Colm O’Hara play an intimate gig at Druid Theatre at 8pm followed by Cois Cladaigh and guests at 10pm in St Nicholas Collegiate Church.
Sunday will feature two shows in Druid Theatre with Mikael Fernstram at 5pm, followed by The Rick Margitza Quartet at an 8pm.
