A private contractor is to commence maintenance of the roundabouts and approach roads in Oranmore.
Liam Madden and Sons has been employed by the Galway County Council to carry out the work which will begin in the coming days.
The news has been welcomed by Independent Oranmore councillor Jim Cuddy.
“There has been a lot of concern about the state of the roundabouts and the image it creates of Oranmore, particularly during the summer months when there are a lot of visitors around,” he said. “This regular maintenance will give a boost to the appearance of the area and will certainly be important during judging of the Tidy Towns Competition.”
