Galway tai Cchi practitioner Michael Grealish has claimed two silver medals a the biennial
International Tai Chi Tournament in Jiaozuo, China.
The Galway builder became interested in tai chi while observing people demonstrating the art when he was travelling in various cities around the world. He began to train eight years ago under tai chi Master Wang Hai Jun, who holds workshops in Galway, Limerick, The UK and the US.
Master Wang, who is a three times Chinese champion and gold medal winner at the Jiaozuo tournament, encouraged Grealish to compete in this year’s tournament which attracts 4,000 competitors from all over the world.
Grealish competed in two disciplines, the Laojai and the Sword, winning silver medals in each discipline.
