Connacht Clan to march to Sportsground in support

The reformed Connacht supporters’ club, known as the Connacht Clan, will mark the province’s first competitive home match of the season with a march from Eyre Square to the Sportsground on Saturday.

The club is urging all fans to join the march to show their support for Connacht and to add to the atmosphere at the Sportsground when Connacht host the Scarlets at 3.15pm.

To celebrate, the club has planned actitivies in Eyre Square that include face painting and entertainment before the Connacht mascot Eddie the Eagle leads a march up to the ground to the Clan Terrace, the new covered stand in the Sportsground which supporters hope will be the focal point for the Connacht Clan. New Sportsground facilities also include the new Connacht Clan Bar where season ticket holders will be able to avail of their free pint.

The Connacht Clan now enjoys a membership of 3,000, with every season ticket holder automatically gaining membership of the club. Membership for non-season ticket holders is €20 and includes a free pin badge and a free ticket to a non-inter provincial RaboDirect PRO12 game of choice.

More information is available at www.connachtclan.com with match tickets available from www.Ticketmaster.ie and www.connachtrugby.ie
