Joe Rooney, who plays the gormless Timmy Higgins in RTÉ 1’s hit comedy Killinascully, headlines The Comedy Club at Cuba* on Friday.
Joe is also known for his portrayal of gurrier priest Fr Damo on Fr Ted. His heady mix of madcap songs, wickedly accurate impressions, and outrageous improvisation have seen him become one of Ireland’s most popular acts.
His energy on stage is infectious. By the time he finishes on stage you know you have seen a true professional. Having recently sold out two nights at Vicar Street, Dublin, Joe comes to Galway in scintillating form and though not for the faint hearted, an hour in his company is truly a pleasure.
Support comes from New Yorker Aidan Bishop who has garnering huge media attention in Britain following his debut show Bachelor Pad at this year’s Edinburgh Festival. Gerry Mallon is the MC.
Tickets are available in advance at Bar 903, The Cellar Bar, and at the door which opens at 8.30pm.
