Film producer takes the chain at Galway Rotary

The new president of Galway Rotary is a movie and TV producer who co-produced the Jack Taylor series of crime films being shot around Galway.

Michael Duke has spent more than 25 years in global finance. For the past few years he has been a movie and TV producer, co-producing with Magma Films the Taylor TV series based on Ken Bruen’s novels. He wrote and is currently producing a dark comedy feature based on the "Lying Eyes trial" called Hitmanforhire.net with Dublin-based Zanzibar Films.

Galway Rotary Club is a member of Rotary International. It is an organisation of business and professional men and women involved in voluntary local and international community service. Rotary promotes peace and international understanding through its educational and humanitarian programmes.

Rotary's top philanthropic goal is to eradicate polio worldwide. To date it has reduced polio cases by 99 per cent. Galway Rotary was founded in 1966 and the club members meet every Tuesday at 1pm at the Meyrick Hotel, Eyre Square, Galway.
