Scéal seeks short films as Gaeilge

TG4 HAS announced Sceál, a new initiative offering Irish-speaking writers/directors the chance to adapt a story from literature as Gaeilge or Irish folklore into a short film.

Applicants will be given the opportunity to develop the story from the basic script to the eventual production and broadcast stage. The final film will be of c30 minutes duration.

The scheme is open to Irish language writers from all over the country, whether they have screen experience or not, and to directors who wish to gain experience in television drama through Irish.

Scéal is being produced by Síol Scéal for TG4. Síol Scéal provide the training initiatives and organise and produce the schemes.

All applicants will need to have a proficiency in the Irish language. All information on the Scéal scheme is available at www.tg4.ie/sceal
