My grandad, we share a (sometimes fanatical ) love of music and his positive attitude to life is really inspiring. He sees beauty in everything.

My sweet tooth.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Probably my concert dresses.
What is your favourite journey?
The journey home to Ireland when I’ve been away, without a doubt. In Ireland I enjoy the drive west on the N4.

When I’m asked questions like this one….
Which living person do you most despise?
I couldn’t say I despise anyone, but Jim Carrey irritates me intensely.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My friends and family, and music!
When and where were you happiest?
Probably when I was very small with no responsibilities!
Which talent would you most like to have?
I would love to play the Viola da Gamba, it’s such a beautiful instrument.
What is your current state of mind?
Hopeful.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Getting to a stage whereby I’m making my living as an opera singer four years after leaving a teaching job.
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what do you think it would be?
If it were something I had control over - a millionairess!

Probably my health, without that you’ve nothing.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Running out of teabags.

I think the work that doctors, nurses and teachers do is amazing.

Honesty, integrity, loyalty, courage.
