Final weekend of music at festival Big Top

Galway Arts Festival will host its final weekend of music acts at the Festival Big Top with a limited ticket offer of €35 to the Silent Disco on Friday and De La Soul on Saturday.

The one night only Silent Disco on Friday night at 9pm titled Silent Night will feature The Gemini Project Robotics comprising two giant laser-wielding LED-lit robots armed with lightstaffs and green lasers. Top DJs will be battling it out on your headphones and watch out for a funky photo booth.

Chicago group Hypnotic Brass Ensemble will bring their unique big brass sound to the Festival Big Top on Saturday before De La Soul take to the stage. Famed for their mesmerising melodies and pulsating rhythms the eight brothers on horns and drummer Gabriel Wallace are sure to have the Festival Big Top bopping. Support is from Galway acts The Kanyu Tree and Daithí Ó Drónaí.

“We are delighted with how things are going so far,” festival chief executive John Crumlish said. “The programme has been very well received and audience numbers are up. There are still plenty of tickets available for different shows as we build towards our last weekend at the Festival Big top with our pop up festival club on Friday night and our closing concert with Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, De La Soul, The Kanyu Tree, and Daithí.”
