Local artists go online for charity

The famed Paint Box Studios in Galway has just launched its inaugural online art exhibition offering over 300 original paintings for sale directly from the artist, with a contribution from each sale supporting local charity Croí in its fight against heart disease and stroke. The exhibition was launched recently by cardiothoracic surgeon Mark Da Costa in the House Hotel, Galway.

In previous years, these artists would have displayed their art work in conventional Art Exhibitions and Art Galleries. Now they are embarking on this new approach which will enable their work to be viewed 24/7 during the months of July, August and September.

Art lovers now have the opportunity to enjoy viewing over 300 paintings from the comfort of their homes by simply logging on to www.thepaintbox.ie

The online exhibition offers a wide range of styles across landscapes, figurative studies, still life, floral studies etc. All the paintings are for sale and the purchaser will deal directly with the artist, thus avoiding normal gallery costs, but more importantly, making a contribution to a very worthy cause.

“This is a novel fundraising opportunity with both the artist and the purchaser making a valuable contribution to charity” says Croí’s Neil Johnson. “We are deeply indebted to all the artists and to The Paint Box studios for supporting us in this way. We hope people will support both the artists and Croí by purchasing these original artworks which are now on sale. Our association with The Paint Box goes back many years with both Paint Box teachers and artists contributing original artworks for inclusion in the Croí Christmas card range as far back as 1995.”
