Search for missing person continues

Gardai are continuing their search for a Galway man who has been missing since the weekend.

A major search operation was launched after 29-year-old Seamus Tynan went missing after being last seen at midday on Saturday July 2, in the Newcastle area of Galway.

Searches were taking place throughout the city yesterday with a search and rescue helicopter being drafted in to conduct an aerial search and a sub-aqua team searching the canals.

The search is expected to resume today with gardai continuing their appeal for the public’s assistance in tracing the missing man’s whereabouts. He is described as being 6ft 3ins, weight 12st, with short sandy coloured hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a blue polo shirt.
