Mazars quiz benefits charities

Mazar’s Tierney, based in Salthill recently hosted ‘Galway’s Brainiest Company’ table quiz to raise much needed funds for three Galway based charities - Ireland’s Friends of Albania, Foundation Nepal and NBCRI. This event formed part of Mazar’s annual CSR activities (corporate social responsibility ) showing the support of the corporate sector for not-for-profit and charitable causes. Representative teams of up to twenty-five local companies attended and the title of ‘Galway’s Brainiest Company’ went to Davy Stockbrokers and Abu Media were runners up.

‘We have a strong belief that the corporate sector are more aware than ever of the need and importance of giving back to the community, be it through volunteerism or fundraising,’ said Paul Mee, partner at Mazar’s Tierney. ‘It was great to see such active participation in this event. Twenty-five different Galway firms sent their best quiz minds and competition was keen throughout. We understand, from discussing with the charities, that fundraising is growing more and more difficult in the current economic climate so we are happy to help out in our own small way.’
