The premises Athenry-based bakery company The Foods of Athenry was extensively damaged in a fire yesterday morning.
The blaze broke out at the bakery, located in Kilconieran, Kiltullagh, at around 9.45am yesterday. Four units, two each from Athenry and Loughrea fire services, attended the blaze which took a number of hours to extinguish. It is understood the premises was empty when the fire started.
While the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, gardaí have confirmed they are not treating it as suspicious.
