Evergreen Health Foods Galway has received a nomination for a prestigious national award with the company’s website – www.evergreen.ie having been shortlisted for the annual Golden Spider Awards.
The Golden Spider Awards are held annually in Dublin and are now in their 12th year. The awards recognise excellence and achievement in the online arena.
There are 24 categories in total and Evergreen has been shortlisted for “Best Retail and Home Shopping Website”. This year the awards have received a record amount of entries. According to James Higgins, eBusiness Manager, this makes the nomination of Evergreen.ie even sweeter.
“There are a lot of excellent websites out there, so it is a great boost to be shortlisted”. Evergreen.ie has been online since 2001, but its new revised e-commerce website went live in May this year. The online shopping facilities coupled with free delivery on most orders helps give Evergreen a real national presence.
Plus Evergreen has a large range of natural skincare products, supplements, herbal remedies and health foods which may be difficult to source elsewhere. Mr Higgins added that the website has been very well received by existing customers and new ones as well.
Not content with just Ireland, Evergreen recently launched another website – www.evergreenhealthstore.co.uk to cater for UK customers as it accepts payment in sterling.
Aideen Hurley, managing director said that these are exciting times for Evergreen.
“We have gone from one small shop in Galway city centre to five shops throughout Galway. And now we have two “virtual” shops and are selling online to the UK. We are pleased to be expanding!”
The Golden Spider Awards are taking place in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on November 20. The main sponsor is eircom, and the awards are managed by the Business & Finance group.
Evergreen Health Food stores have five locations around Galway city.
