Ford's new C-Max is exceeding expectations

Ford's new C-Max lifestyle MPV is segment sales leader in Ireland with 23 per cent market-share. It is also surpassing sales expectations across Europe, recording more than 100,000 sales and orders since its launch late last year.

To meet demand for the five-seat C-Max and seven-seat Grand C-Max, Ford has increased the line speed at its plant in Valencia, Spain. The result has been an almost 18 per cent increase in daily C-Max production at the plant.

“In spite of the general business downturn, sales of the car in Ireland since its launch last November are at a respectable 640 units,” Eddie Murphy, managing director of Ford Ireland told the Galway Advertiser. “With its low emission engines and extra versatility, C-Max has found favour with Irish families and continues to be an important model in our 2011 line up.”

A high percentage of customers are choosing well-equipped versions of the Ford C-Max. Some 65 per cent of C-Max sales have been high-series trim levels, such as the Titanium spec versions, compared to 32 per cent over the same period a year ago.

Ford market research shows C-Max customers in Europe reported that the vehicle’s design, technology and driving characteristics have attracted them to the vehicle. The Ford Grand C-Max’s sliding rear doors also are proving a top feature with customers.
