A 48-year-old Oughterard man charged with being in possession of nearly €6,000 worth of cannabis with intent to sell or supply has been further remanded on continuing bail to appear in court again in four months time.
John Prunty, with an address at 61 Carrowmonagh, Oughterard, is charged with allegedly being in possession of drugs, and possession of drugs with intent to sell or supply at Dublin Road on December 17, 2010.
The Galway District Court heard on Monday that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to the matter being dealt with summarily in the District Court.
Judge Elizabeth MacGrath accepted jurisdiction in the matter and remanded Prunty on continuing bail to appear in court again on October 19, 2011, for mention.
