Ahascragh-Caltra have won the Galway Intermediate Camogie Championship after beating Mountbellew-Moylough in the county final recently.
A tight match all the way, the teams were level after half time by Ahascragh-Caltra 0-4, Mountbellew-Moylough 1-1, and again at full time, 1-5 to 2-2. However in extra time Ahascragh-Caltra stepped up a gear and eventually came out winners by 4-6 to 2-3, scoring 3-1 in extra time.
The team, having being relegated from senior at the end of last year, are now back in the senior ranks once again.
Ahascragh-Caltra will now face Four Roads from Roscommon in the Connacht final on Saturday at 1pm in Ahascragh.
Meanwhile the club’s minor team were beaten by Sarsfields by 3-14 to 1-3 on Saturday.
