Two days of storytelling and dance in Coole Park visitor centre

Coole Park, located just a few miles west of Gort, is bringing two days of storytelling and dancing to its visitor centre for Galwegians of all ages to enjoy.

Starting this evening, it is a night of storytelling with local storyteller Clare Muireann Murphy as she spins stories from Galway county in this session of stories for adults. A uniquely devised blend of old Galway stories, from the myths and folktales that make up the lie of the land to the more contemporary urban legends, this original gathering of tales, researched and developed by Clare will give you a new perspective on Galway. Come and enjoy an evening full of tales of love, adventure, betrayal and loss set amidst the lovely green hills and beautiful coastline of Co Galway. Not suitable for children under 11 years, stories will begin at 8pm.

Sunday will bring a day of dance to the Coole Park Visitor Centre starting at 12pm to 2.30pm. The classes, which are all free, will include a contemporary dance class and a hip-hop dance class for seven to nine year olds from 12pm to 1pm, as well as a hip hop class for teenagers and a contemporary dance class for adults of all ages. No experience necessary, booking is manadatory as spaces are limited.
