A gala dinner for Libya at the Clayton

The Libyan Irish Youth Organisation of the west of Ireland is hosting a formal dinner which presents a rare opportunity to learn about the events that have occurred in Libya since Colonel Gaddafi waged war on his people on February 11.

On Saturday night, the ballroom in the Clayton Hotel will host a four-course meal by renowned European chefs, as well as a number of guest speakers. Among those speaking on the night will be members of the Libyan National Transitional Council based in Benghazi, eyewitnesses to the events as they unfolded and reports from Irish citizens who have been distributing humanitarian aid.

This one night only event is in conjunction with I-GO Aid foundation. This non-profit organisation has been supplying medical and food supplies to the besieged western areas of Libya, Misratah, Zintan and the western mountain region. I-Go makes shipments of supplies to these regions every five days.

The gala dinner takes place on Saturday night at 7pm in the ballroom of the Clayton Hotel, Ballybrit, and promises sumptuous food, good company, inspiring tales, as well as an opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause.
