Galway writer in running for Frank O’Connor Award

GALWAY WRITER Moya Roddy has made the long list for the prestigious Frank O’Connor Award for her collection of short stories Other People.

The award, which is run by the Munster Literature Centre, is the single biggest prize for a collection of short stories published in English anywhere in the world.

Moya is one of four Irish authors on an international list that includes Colm Toibin and Impac Award winner Javier Marias. The jury will announce a short list in July.

Other People, published by Wordsonthestreet last December is available in Charlie Byrnes Bookshop, Easons, Dubrays and from wordsonthestreet.com
