Tea at the Rectory and tunes at the church

“You are all invited,” says the Rector of St Nicholas’, Archdeacon Gary Hastings. He has again issued an invitation to all in Galway to afternoon tea at the Rectory, Taylor’s Hill, on Saturday June 11, starting at 2pm, when the annual garden fete takes place in aid of St Nicholas’, and to attend tunes in the church on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8pm during the summer.

From azaleas to zinneas on the plant stall and from apple tarts to yeast bread on the cake stall, there will be something for everyone to enjoy with bouncing castles, face painting, and games for the young and afternoon tea, barbecue, raffles, and wheel of fortune for the not so young. Enjoy the atmosphere and the music which will be provided by St Patrick’s Brass Band and help raise funds to keep St Nicholas’ open for all in the centre of the city.

The traditional music concerts in the church are in their second year and provide an alternative venue for traditional music in the heart of the city. Musicians taking part will include the Rector Gary Hastings, Cormac Ó Beaglaoich, and many other well-known players. For more information visit www.tunesinthechurch.com
