Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award

GALWEGIANS WITH an idea for a film and who are not afraid to stand up before a panel of judges and tell them about it take note - the Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award is back.

The Galway Film Fleadh is seeking submissions for its Pitching Award and the deadline for submissions is Thursday June 16.

Applicants must submit a 500-word story idea for screen which will be read by an designated industry panel. The best five are shortlisted and invited to present their pitch to a panel of judges. This will take place in front of an audience on Sunday July 10 at the Galway Film Fleadh.

The winner receives €3,000 to enable him/her to further develop his/her script and enhance his/her filmmaking skills. The prize can allow the winner the time to develop and expand the pitch into a full feature film script, as was the case with Will Collins and My Brothers which became the opening film of the 2010 Galway Film Fleadh.

The 23rd Galway Film Fleadh takes place from Tuesday July 5 to Sunday July 10.
