Family fun and evening singalongs - The Wizard of Oz @ Róisín Dubh

THE MUSICAL version of The Wizard of Oz has given the world two of its most loved songs - ‘Follow The Yellowbrick Road’ and the magnificent ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’.

This weekend Sing Along Cinema is showing the classic 1939 film The Wizard Of Oz, starring Judy Garland, at the Róisín Dubh.

There will be two showings of the film, both of which take place this Saturday.

The first is at 3pm (doors open at 2pm ) and will be an all-ages show where parents can bring their children to enjoy the magic of the film on a big screen, introduce them to its famous songs, and encourage them to sing along, dance, act out parts, boo the wicked witch and cheer on Dorothy, Scarecrow, the Lion, and the Tin Man on their journey to meet the wizard. Admission is €5.

The second showing is at 8pm and is for adults only. Here over 18s can indulge their inner child and sing along with the songs, recite favourite lines, and, like the children, boo the wicked witch and cheer on Dorothy and her friends.

The MC for the night will be Savage Eye’s Declan Rooney. For the evening show there will be a full bar serving themed cocktails - Emerald Cities, Ruby Slippers, and Flying Monkeys - for €5.

Admission is €10 for the evening show and this also grants you free admission to the Silent Disco afterwards.
