A young man who was injured in an industrial accident at the weekend has died in hospital.
Szymon Szwed (26 ) was crushed in the accident, which occurred at the Barna Waste recycling facility in Carrowbrowne on Saturday.
Mr Szwed, a native of Poland who had been living in Galway for the past three years, was being treated in intensive care when he died from his injuries on Tuesday. It is understood his family had travelled from Poland to be with him before he passed away.
The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into the incident.
