THREE FOLK-influenced, acoustic acts - Fia Rua, Sweeney Lee, and Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies, will play upstairs in the Róisín Dubh on Thursday June 2 at 8.30pm.
Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies have members from Ireland, The Basque Country, and Holland, and have been described by London Music Blog as “a fantastically enjoyable chilled out mesh of musical culture”.
Singer-songwriter Fia Rua is well known to Galway audiences and his most recently album, Falling Time, was described as “contemporary and timeless...a folking brilliant piece of work” by Hotpress.
Galway resident Sweeney Lee recently released her album Sugar Bombs and Shooting Stars. She has spent time performing in Australia and Bilbao and is influenced by many different cultures, artists and experiences.
