Colga advanced to the final after claiming a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Mervue in the semi-final.
Last Saturday Colga were forced to a 3-3 draw away to Barna in the u-14 League.
Barna, playing against a strong breeze, held Colga scoreless for most of the opening half, restricting the visitors to either long-range shots or defending well against numerous corners Howerver with eight minutes remaining, a long-range shot from Conor Tarpey gave Colga the lead.
Although Colga pushed forward again trying to increase their lead, they were caught with a quick break from a corner which led to Barna equalising with a minute to go.
It looked like Colga would be under pressure from the start of the second half, but they started as they finished by playing the ball on the ground and spreading the ball to the wings. They were rewarded with a second goal from Conor Tarpey’s twin Brian to take a 2-1 lead, and when Colga continued to press forward, they were rewarded with a third from Conor Cosgrave and looked to be in control.
However with six minutes remaining a quick ball over the top of the advancing backs gave Barna a second goal, and three minutes later they grabbed a vital equaliser in an entertaining match.
