RnaG on lookout for Gaeltacht village for TV ad campaign

RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta has started a search to find the perfect Gaeltacht location in which to record their upcoming TV promo in June. It is asking Gaeltacht towns and villages in Galway who think that their area might have what it takes to get in touch with them.

The station will record the promo at the end of June, and all they need to be able to record it in your town or village is a meeting place, such as a town square, a space down by the quays, or a green. The community in the area chosen will have the chance to take part in the promo, their village will be seen on television screens all over the country later in the summer, and the local GAA club colours will also be visible in the promo.

RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will bring its roadcaster, An Ródaí, to the area and will be broadcasting from there on the day. There’ll also be a barbeque for the locals and music and it promises to be a fun day out for all the family.

To be in with a chance to have the TV promo recorded in your area, send an email to [email protected], and describe as Gaeilge the area and the local community, as well as sending in plenty of photos of the area so that the director of the promo can get a good visual impression of the area.

The closing date for entries is May 20 so if you think the promo should be filmed i gConamara nó in Árainn, get sending the applications to [email protected]. For further information go to www.rte.ie/rnag
