New Hyundai i40 estate on the way

Hyundai Ireland has announced pricing and specification for the new i40 family size car, which is due to go on sale in Ireland at the end of June.

The estate version of the new i40 will be the first to arrive, with two trim levels available. The I40 Comfort will retail from €24,995.

Standard specification includes electric stability control, brake assistant system, hill assist control, vehicle stability management, electronic parking brake with auto hold, six-speed manual transmission, daytime running lights, and nine air bags including rear side airbags.

Economy is boosted by a start-stop system and 205/60R16 low rolling resistance tyres and a lighter space saver spare wheel.

It also has a fully adjustable steering wheel, manual air conditioning, leather steering wheel and gear knob, Bluetooth and voice recognition (phone and audio stream ), radio/CD ( MP3, RDS, USB, AUX, Ipod ), front door courtesy lamp, outside adjustable door mirrors which are heated electrically, and LED rear lights.

The higher/second spec level in the i40 is the Executive, which will retail from €26,495 - both ex-works. For the extra two grand, add in alloy wheels (16" ), dual zone climate control with auto demist, electrochromatic rear view mirror with integrated camera, fully adjustable electric driver's seat plus a manual height adjustment for the front seat passenger, cruise control with speed limiter, rain sensor, electric folding door mirrors, luggage floor rail system, interior brushed metal finish trims, front footwell lights, and exterior body coloured door handles and chrome trim.

Hyundai says these launch prices will apply until December, when the i40 estate version will increase in price by €1,500. At that time Hyundai will also launch the new i40 saloon version.

The new i40 comes with Hyundai’s five-years Triple Car Plan, five-years unlimited mileage warranty, five-years health check and five-years road side assistance. Hyundai points out that terms and conditions apply to this coverage.

The i40 will arrive with a 1.7 diesel engine that fits in to Band A CO2 emissions, which attracts €104 annual road tax.
