Award-winning Galway photographer Gerard Keenan has reason to celebrate this week after taking home a second place prize at the World Photographic Arts Awards 2008.
A haunting image of the diving board in Salthill won Mr Keenan the second place prize in the Architecture category of the 2008 World Photographic Arts Black and White Spider Awards.
Mr Keenan, who was also nominated in the still life and fine art categories, was competing against photographers from 63 other countries in front of an international judging panel that included some of the industry’s most respected names from Sotheby's to the Tate Gallery in London.
Mr Keenan, whose client base includes the Polo Ralph Lauren label, pop-queen Madonna and Beverly Hills 90210 star Jennie Garth, has a number of his works on display at a gallery in New York.
