The annual Leenane Walking Festival will take place in north Connemara this weekend.
The festival, which takes place from tomorrow (Friday ) to Sunday, will feature a number of walks including a choice of panoramic high-level mountain walk taking in Mweelrea, Benchoona, and Maamtrasna, as well as a number of low-level options.
This year’s programme also includes a guided cycle around Salruck and Renvyle Peninsula, a guided low level guided herb and nature walk along the Famine Trail, a simulated helicopter rescue by the Irish Coast Guard, and a family walk on Leckavara Hill.
Walkers can look forward to refreshments provided at the end of each walk, as well as a barbecue and party on the Sunday evening.
