Top class coach and nutritionists to give talk on sports nutrition

Evergreen Healthfoods will be hosting an information evening on sports nutrition at the Pillo Hotel & Spa, (formerly the Courtyard by Marriot ) on Tuesday, April 26 at 6:30pm. The event is being organised in support of Special Olympics Ireland, and in association with the Pillo Hotel & Spa. There will be three speakers on the night, each covering different aspects of sports performance and nutrition.

Internationally renowned triathlon coach Sebastien Locteau will speak at the event. Sebastien is currently the only registered level three triathlon coach and tutor of coaching Ireland (NCTC ). He is also a registered level three swimming coach with the English and Irish Amateur Swimming Association (ASA ). He has coached at all levels from national athletes to international athletes. He has been involved with athletes taking part in the world triathlon championships, European or world cup, 100km ultra running world and European championships, and current 2012 high performance swimmers. His unique insight into training at this level will benefit athletes of all levels and in all sports.

Also speaking on the night will be sports nutrition specialist Eimear Gallwey of Kinetica Sports, a Cork based manufacturer of sports nutrition products. Gallwey's background is in food science and technology, and she was heavily involved in the research and development of the Kinetica range of products alongside elite sports nutritionist Matt Lovell. She is currently working as Kinetica's marketing and product specialist, involved in training and educating staff on the benefits and effectiveness of the range.

Local nutritionist Olive Curran from PPC Galway is the final speaker. Curran has worked in the health industry for a number of years and is a fully qualified nutritionist. She will speak about the basics of what foods are needed for optimum sports performance.

The event takes place on Tuesday, April 26 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the Pillo Hotel & Spa, Galway (formerly the Courtyard by Marriot ). Admission on the night will be €5, with all door proceeds going to Special Olympics Ireland. Athletes of all ages, abilities and disciplines are welcome on the night.
